VOLUNTEER – Medical Reserve Corps

“Serving the West Virginia counties of Calhoun,  Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane,  Wirt and Wood.”

The Medical Reserve Corps was officially launched as a national, community-based movement in July 2002. It was formed in response to President Bush’s call for all Americans to offer volunteer service in their community.

The purpose of the MOVMRC is to strengthen our community by providing an avenue for medical and public health volunteers to offer their expertise during times of community need.

MRCs are a specialized component of the Citizen’s Corps, a national network of volunteers dedicated to ensuring their families, homes and communities are safe from disasters of all kinds.

If you have medical skills, mental health skills or simply want to provide basic volunteer service, we are looking for a variety of volunteers to serve Public Health.

If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, fill out the interest form here. You can also call Threat Preparedness Unit at 304-485-7374 ext. 179, email derek.r.wilson@wv.gov. You will also have to sign up via WVREDI below.
