Administrative Secretary
I began my employment with the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department in November of 1992, and became the administrative secretary in June of 1998.
Public health, as well as my perception of it, has changed greatly over the years. My earliest ideas of what the health department was about included the traditional nurse image providing basic health services to people in the community, and food inspectors going to eating establishments to assess their cleanliness.
We are no longer just the health department. Today, we are part of a local, regional, state and national network joined to promote and provide healthy lifestyles and prevent disease wherever possible. The positive outlook and the people I work with and for have contributed to my looking forward to coming to work each day.
