Children’s Services

This program’s central purpose is prevention. The program’s mission is to get care to children before they become ill or disabled.

Exams include:

  • Community referrals
  • Dental referrals
  • Developmental & behavioral assessments
  • Ear, nose and throat
  • Fluoride (for more information for this service click here)
  • Hearing screening
  • Immunizations
  • Lice checks
  • Lead testing
  • Medical history
  • Nutrition assessments/referrals
  • Physical
  • Referrals for lab tests
  • Vision testing
  • Vital signs

HealthCheck: All individuals from birth through 20 years of age, who have a valid West Virginia Medicaid Card, are eligible for HealthCheck services. Medicaid eligibility is determined by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
*You must present your Medicaid Card (and HMO card if applicable) at the time of service.

CHIP – Children’s Health Insurance Program: This program is for individuals who are age 19 and under. This program provides insurance to working families who make too much money to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to purchase their own insurance. Eligibility is determined by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. You must present a CHIPS card on the date of service.

Mid-Ohio Valley Board of Health has also set “low cost” fees for patients who do not qualify for the above programs and wish to utilize this service and pay on a “private pay” basis.
