HIV

Prevention, counseling, and testing is provided for the purpose of diagnosing HIV/AIDS. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) testing determines whether or not you’re infected with HIV, a virus that weakens your immune system and can lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

You may think about HIV testing if you’ve been exposed to blood, had unprotected sex, or you just want to make sure you do not have HIV. Regardless of your reason for getting tested, you may want to know what to expect from HIV testing and what types of tests are available. All appointments, testing, and counseling is kept strictly confidential. For information on HIV testing visit the CDC’s page here.
